Experience a scandinavian christmas in Gothenburg with cosy markets, atmospheric concerts, Christmas at Liseberg Amusement Park and more.
Liseberg Amusement Park opens its gate 18 November and remains open till 30 December. 1 December marks the start of Julstaden (Christmas City) with a festive opening ceremony featuring light shows, a torchlight procession and more. The “Lane of lights” that light up the city offers a spectacular and atmospheric experience. Trees, buildings, landmarks and more have all been illuminated in exciting and unexpected ways.
2016 is the year of Culture in Gothenburg, and the theme has set the tone for this year’s light installations. The culture theme is also very much present in this year’s advent calendar. The calendar features one cultural experience a day all the way up until Christmas Eve. For more information visit www.goteborg.com/christmascity
